Airplane plastic model. This time, I wanted to build a jet fighter after a long absence. It is the F-86F of the Taiwanese (the Republic of China) air force. I remember making Royal Canadian Air Force Sabre a long time ago.
This Rio Olympics generally has many medal counts of Japan and warms up in Japan. It’s good that the competition is not seen as normally being telecasted live.
I need to adjust the pilot position and control stick because it does not reach and cannot hold it.
The color of the pilot suit of the Republic of China Air Force, I think it may be almost the same color as the U.S.A.F.
For the jet fighter of the first generation, there is not much equipment: this time, mounting drop tanks and Sidewinder missiles.
I painted a silver part of the air intake and the exhaust vent. I don’t need to paint because I think I used the red cover on the top and the open part.

Several rounds and flat metal fragments have been put in. I need to keep in mind to put the weight on the nose. The indication is 5g, but I used 10g to ensure the balance.
There was a parting line on the canopy. I sharpened it with sandpaper and finally improved the shine with my compound.
Preparations before blowing off a fuselage are various. One of them is the masking of a canopy.
The small parts are attached this time because it was a full-scale silver painting.

An indication of the jet engine exhaust is a burnt iron color. I tried a little mixed with metallic and clear orange. The finish on the backside was rough, and I can see the parting line a little. There was a visible parting line. I must be improved.
The upper end of the vertical tail is painted gray; this part is often forgotten. It is easier if this part is a decal.
Making them stick a little more is necessary, but I have finished sticking several decals, which seem the most difficult. Tamiya Mark Fit Strong is not stronger than I thought.
The painting of the accessory was over, too. It is almost completed.

They had a significant relationship with the United States Armed Forces. F-86F was given from the United States in 1955, and the Republic of China (Taiwan) applied 320 or more. Many countries, including Taiwan, the Philippines, Korea, and Japan, received the help of armaments in those days from the United States to protect them from the menace of communism.
This aircraft is the Taiwan Air Force acrobatic team Thunder Tiger.
The Air to Air missile was used in the first actual fighting, and shooting down was recorded during air combat with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force and Taiwanese Air Force at Taiwan Strait in September 1958. Taiwan air force F-86F fighters equipped with Sidewinder shot down 11 MiG-17F.
I use Mr. Color No.8 silver mainly. Then, I put the contrast with mixed clear blue with silver and rather dark silver.
I attached the red metal covers to the front and back. I fasten it with adhesive coming off neatly provisionally. I used to fix it temporally with clean removable adhesive.
The orange light is a good accent.
A canopy isn’t usually finished successfully. I have done slightly well this time.
The decal on the nose is necessary to stick to a relatively complex curved surface. I didn’t stick them easily without becoming wrinkled. I failed a little. Should I watch the progress until drying?
Decals are often stuck and overlaid. There are some places little crooked.
The nationality mark of the Taiwan Air Force is the emblem is the Blue Sky and White Sun in the upper-left corner of the national flag. Meanings that there are no underhand things innocently.
This aircraft is a semi-gloss finish. The gloss may be fine. I can see the reflected decal on the wing.
A black part of the nose tip is a freehand drawing. There was no decal. Is it difficult to put it on a curved surface, even if I had one?
The landing gears were lightly washed.
The decals connected points that are not finely pasted. I adjusted the lower part; it’s challenging to be seen during a display.
It was hard in many tiny decals, and I built a jet after a long time. I feel a sense of precision was up with them.
Could it be better built than the Royal Canadian Air Force Saber I tried in ancient times? The Tiger Thunder of the Republic of China Air Force marking is cool. F-86 Sabre has various decals; it’s one of the fun factors of aircraft modeling.
