UE Carrier had a fine work prize in Tamiya’s 74the Patch Photo Contest in 2014.
I made Marder INI in 2007, and at that time, I got the Bronze Prize. It was after a long absence and applied, and I felt good that the prize was with such a small kit. This upload was delayed without getting time very much, but I was able to place it here somehow by the end of 2014.
I wonder why only this kit is attached to a pair of tweezers. Not so strong and practical. Maybe I’ll use it for sticking decals. Chassis component assembling is no problem; all the parts are perfect, matching each other.
After making up the tank body like this.
The caterpillar tread is divided partially and can easily express the slack of the upper belt. This partial method is one of my favorites, along with the Magic Track of the Dragon Models. I hope all model kits have the partial tread method.
The loading platform was also assembled easily.
Because there are four figures in this kit, I’m in two minds, make it or not; four figures are lots of work… Because I have not yet decided, the part of the driver and side seat leaves without adhering.
The back detail and mold are fine.
I brought the tin canned milk and woody barrel from other kits. I loaded oranges and tomatoes, which I made with epoxy putty, into small boxes.
I made the tomato’s leaves and stem end with a plastic sheet. As for the orange, I molded the surface with a needle. I think it’s not tank model fieldwork but very enjoyable.
After all, I decided to make four figures; the spirit of Tamiya, who released a rare French AFV military kit, is valuable. I made a rifle sling with a fishing belt weight, but the metal was too soft and difficult to handle. It isn’t easy to handle, but use a brass belt, a blank space of other photo-etched parts.
Because I usually get used to looking at my hand, the end of the finger’s unnatural parts stands out. It is challenging to craft the shape of holding the belt; a sling is a little too thick.
The specified color of Tamiya was car XF-51, but I don’t know the color to match Creos and mixed khaki with olive drab compared with the box illustration.
I painted primary colors on goods loaded. The wood sticks are holding Japanese ice bars (Popsicle).
I remember all the parts are fixed in this process. All decals are attached.
I mixed the primary color of the French Infantry uniform with dark yellow, red-brown, and orange, a ratio of 7:2:1.
On the other hand, the tank crew was indicated to paint brown because all the tank crew in France used leather jackets at that time.

This French Army carrier UE had a fine work prize in Tamiya’s 74th Patch Photo Contest in the summer of 2014. I produced it in August and remained, but it’s good to show you this year.
I did chipping randomly on the edge of the tank and cart.
The joint of the tanks and cart is only a hook; we can display them separately.
I did weathering paint of dust and rust with pastels on the chassis and caterpillar.
It’s fantastic and enjoyable to mold tomatoes and oranges. Do they look fresh?
The painting of the wooden box was not so bad, I suppose.
I see spots of the painting through a magnifying lens like this photo. But it is against my preference for too much weathering. Better to use more colors to describe rust?
According to Tamiya’s assembling manual, this marking was in France in 1940, but the unit was unidentified. I wonder if this mark is a pineapple…
They are like Russian folk craft dolls Matryoshka, as both hands are molded in one part. Two tank crews are the same mold. I fitted goggles for one of them.
This painting is a good feeling of leather material.
After the tank crew boarded, as in this photo. Ah!! Almost uniforms are not in sight. I worked hard to paint the cherry color leather jacket…
By the way, I have a leather jacket like the above one, Aeroleather half-belted cherry color. Aero Leather is a company producing many good quality leather clothes in Scotland.
French infantry soldier’s uniform is all khaki from head to foot and has no changes. I painted the gaiter brighter color and did dry-brushing to touch some changes. I dry-brushing all the edges and wrinkles to have some contrast.
A black eye is a little too big, maybe.
I play in various ways with what kind of placement is attractive. This is almost the same as I was a child, holding a hero in one hand and another a monster. I’m not changing mentally since very young…
It is scarce to make French infantry for me. I can understand the form of the French duffle bag and water bottle in these backsight figures.
I have many photos I intended to put up on my homepage, and all uploads are completed. Many figures allocated are like one battlefield scene, much more dramatic. I wish everyone good modeling for the coming year!!!
