I visited that museum in May 2016. I show the pictures have you taste an atmosphere with interest. There are dark parts and unbalanced lighting of illuminations, so the images are not entirely satisfactory, but I’m glad you enjoyed them. My hobby is modeling, so ordinary people may feel some pictures from a strange angle. Some photos were out of focus. The information posted on this page is current as of May 2016. Because I wanted to see the other museums in one day, it is a pity that I was looking around in a hurry. It’s the center of Washington, D.C., so quite crowded on a weekday. I think that I could enjoy it for a full day if I see it slowly and carefully. There are a lot of famous spots like Capitol Hill and the National Gallery of Art, etc. I wanted to watch the Air and Space Museum display aircraft one by one taking time and taking as many pictures as possible. I would like to have sightseeing in many other places, but time is limited. I had been rushed, so when there is a chance again, I’d like to spend more time.
Apollo Lunar Module. Because I was hungry and ate at McDonald’s in the back. We ate here for the first time in a few years because there was no place to eat. I think the taste won’t change in Japan. The size of Big Mack was not different from Japan.
It is a spacesuit. I have seen a similar photo in the net auction.
It is linked to Apollo and Soyuz. I did not take a photo in the proper frame; it’s too large. The United States and the Soviets were also doing a cooperation mission in space development during the cold war period.
It’s a spectacular scene, the hanging DC-3 from the ceiling.
Ford 5-AT-B try motor. It is a passenger plane from the 1920s through the 30s.
Boeing 247-D. This is also the 1930s passenger aircraft. During the war, it became a military transport aircraft.
There was also a corner of the drone, often used in the recent war against terror. The photo is MQ-1L 97-3034. The crewless aircraft frequently appeared in the drama Homeland and 24 live another day.
I was looking into the jet engine nozzle of the A-4C Skyhawk.
A-4C Skyhawk. Bombs and a machine gun, and landing gear.
It is during a strategy in Afghanistan after 9.11 terrorism. By the way, the scale is 1/72. Splendid.
It takes quite a time, even only one 1/72 jet plane.
Because I have made only a warship model of 1/700, it wouldn’t be completed by a single person.
This is the panel about one of the battles of the Greater East Asia War, the fight with the Japanese empire navy in detail.
Pitcairn PA-5 Mail-wings. It is the aircraft for airmail.
Large models, such as the flying boat, were also displayed here and there. Because a professional built them, every model is very high quality.
Zero fighters, Macchi and the Messerschmitt were displayed, too, but it was slightly dark, and a good photograph did not come out. A regret. I recommend you see you hear; the second is Udvar-Hazy if it suits your schedule. It is smaller than the Udvar-Hazy Museum, with many panel displays. It was in the middle of Washington DC, and had good access.
