I’ll try to build the German mountain soldier old kit in practice. Volstad’s box picture looks good atmosphere.
I could not put it together too quickly because of the whole adjustment.
It is difficult to set up the ammunition belt of the machine gun.
All except for a sniper equipped with oversized backpacks.

All four heads are changed to resin parts.
Face painting is complex after attaching the gun near the face, so some figures are not yet glued with their weapons.
The mountain troop’s ice axes are not attached as it is. It’s imagination, but I used a board weight of fishing to hold the ice ax on a backpack.
It is incomprehensible whether I deleted the parting lines of colored light gray injection parts. Probably securing water is difficult; the mountain soldiers have two water bottles.

On the left side of the cap, there is an emblem of Edelweiss, which is a symbol of the mountain troops. The mold of the kit is almost invisible. I tried to paste the etched spare parts for 1/700 ship that look like the Edelweiss shape.
Because I replaced all the heads, I added his hair growth with the epoxy putty.
It is not a very sharp backpack mold. It cannot be helped as it is an ancient kit. I have improved the mold a little with my design knife.

I painted the uniform with water-based paint.
I was wondering about the timing to attach a rifle sling. Because I have left the rifle attaching last for some figures this time, I attached a metal sling.
I had no feeling about assembling after the paint was settled. In particular, I was satisfied when the painting of the face was over. I also thought it was OK without a sling.
German Gebirgsjäger was completed. Gebirgsjäger, in WWII, played active roles in the Caucasus, Norway, and Finland, various battlefields, including Crete.
I got the wrong setting this time, and have become a considerably big photograph. There is no meaning in taking a photo so big as several times the real thing.
All were changed to resin-made heads. I chose severe faces.
I wish to make a firearm strap.
The mold of climbing shoes is perfect.
I should put the shadow of clothes after the basic painting because there was no concealment power of the skin color; challenging to paint, I felt. It does not seem so compelling, giving the first coat black. I need to do more research and try.
Because I did not sweep the weathering powder properly, the dust stood out.
He is a sniper. It is difficult to match the line of sight. It may slip a little. Edelweiss insignia of the hat mold is almost disappeared; I pasted some similarly shaped parts from 1/700 ship model photo-etched parts. I’m not a professional molder, but I think the overall poses may not be wrong. During shooting, the heavy baggage is taken down.
The handwritten eagle mark on the hat is relatively tiny. I drew a mark of Edelweiss. This is the limit of my skill. Speaking of which, it was minute when I drew an American national flag on the sleeve of the modern U.S. tank crew. All epaulets were exposed. The setting of equipment straps was passed under that. I think that an appearance is good when I expose all the epaulets.
What a fair reason German troops invaded the Caucasus! Is it a sense like the Japanese Imperial Army, having invaded Imphal and New Guinea?
It was my first time building Gebirgsjäger; it was interesting because there was pretty original equipment.
