It’s a 1/35 scale Italeri Gun Truck. It is an armed M939 5-ton truck. The box painting is probably a vehicle used during the Gulf War.
Plastic models of trucks are assembled from around here.
I made Big Foot before, so I’ll remember the general points. First, attach various parts of the lower part of the truck chassis.
I first glued the chassis frame and driver compartment floor parts, which is a little different from the instruction manual procedure. It isn’t easy to locate the glue on the large parts.

The fixed frame of the machine gun mounted on the driver’s seat was also completed.
It is a machine gun part covered with iron plates.
I don’t like the tire parts of this Italeri kit. I forgot if it was a Bronco or a Trumpeter. I tried to put on Michelin tires that were cast from HEMTT series kits in the past. I think it’s a bit bigger than the standard, but I use it because I prefer a sturdy look. I have a little lousy shaping, but I don’t care.

There was a string in the kit that looked like a wire, and to attach it like this. I don’t think the iron plate-covered fighting booth is just hooked up to the carrier by wire, but if it’s not firmly welded, it will slip off and fall off while moving.
The appearance from the front is pretty cool.

I blew a bright color to try gradation painting. But this time, it’s camouflage paint, and this military truck doesn’t have much camouflage area, so that it might be meaningless.
The floor and part of the platform frame seem to be made of wood. This part is probably Olive Drab. But I prioritized my personal preference and painted it with wood grain.

I tried to paint wooden floorboards with water-based paint. The color choice was not so good. It dries quickly and doesn’t blend well.
There were some oil colors that I was going to throw away because I thought I didn’t need them anymore when I moved. After all, I use this Yellow Ocher, Brown Ocher, and Raw Umber, which I decided to keep because they are not bulky. I’m glad I didn’t throw them away.
It’s better than the previous picture. I think the color and gloss will change slightly because I will do light weathering.

I think Italeri should prepare a lot of spare ammunition cases whose name is a Gun-truck. Sadly, there are no accessories at all. Place a box of combat rations from Tamiya’s Modern U.S. Military Equipment Set. Some parts of the ammunition case were in the set, but most were 40 mm ammunition cases, and only 2 were 12.7 mm ammunition cases.
Cardboard boxes for combat rations are to be cut out, made cuts, and folded. I remember putting some on my Paladin self-propelled gun a long time ago.
It’s like half fun and half hardship. I don’t feel like making 30 or 40 boxes.
This is enough for this time. The finish is different, and it will be a little accent. The moon mark side of the box may have something to do with the Islamic religion.

Strangely, I can’t fit the wiper with a beautiful fan shape. The dust marks on the wipers were made by tracing the lids of plastic bottles several times before. Now I have a Voyager masking stencil, so it’s a little easier.
Many vehicles were remodeled in the field. The Italeri Armored Gun Truck has been completed. A gun truck is a transport truck equipped with an armored cabin and carrier and armed with machine guns, grenade launchers, etc.
The 5 t truck series with the official number chassis M939 was developed and operated in the United States in the 1980s. This truck has a 6 x 6 wheel drive, and the regular truck is called the M923.
Increased armor is painted in rusty colors. I used Vallejo Cavalry Brown. I didn’t have this color. It’s too much trouble to buy just one. I bought it while I stopped around Akihabara. Mixing this color didn’t seem easy, so I’m glad I bought it.
Bulletproof plates seem to be simple ones made by welding iron plates. Is this reddish-brown primer? I think it’s good to draw rust because it changes the appearance of the modeling.
There are a lot of different parts on the side of the truck chassis—diesel lettering on the fuel tank.
There are a lot of ration cartons, and there is no spare ammunition case, which makes me feel uncomfortable.
When I use a mixture of pastel and enamel paint for washing, I don’t know the reveal of the weathering right after the paint, and after a while, it dries too bright, and I sometimes get a shock. Even if it is a single work, this much weathering is OK. I thought I did it today, but it would be good later.
The Gun Truck had a lot of work to do. It plays an important role in escorting truck convoys. When it’s completed, it’s quite a powerful-looking truck. I think 2 x 12.7 mm machine guns are not powerful, but it was effective for the local guerrillas.
