I try to build the main battle tank of the US Army, the M48 Patton tank. I was more concerned about the three-wheeled bike beside the box art tank.
It looks like a centipede. This kit has a detailed underside mold of the chassis. Perhaps it is better to paint the bottom of the AFV properly. I began making airplane models frequently, and painting on the underside became less resistant too much.
I feel that there are a lot of parts when I assemble a tank model after a long interval. This kit will probably be easy after completing the chassis. There are not so many parts of the turret.
Well, the chassis only left winding the belt-type caterpillar. It was sometimes slightly unstable to a plane but became stable once. If it’s unstable, it’s easier to adjust the road wheels to fit on the ground now. It is an unusual way of assembling by installing fenders on both sides later, like the Dragon’s German III Assault self-propelled guns.

I think that it is fantastic to have a shield cover. But by making it with putty, the main barrel will harden and not go up and down, so it’s as it is.
This kit doesn’t contain photo-etched parts and is quite a simple impression. Some small and thin parts are made of plastic, it is sufficiently thin, and maybe there is no problem.
DS Caterpillar, I wonder if it was said Dragon styrene track? The upper side floats and is bad looking when not bonding, only winding around the roller. It can be used without any problems if it looks sagging down. It can be glued with ordinary Creos Mr. Cement. The whole shape was set up while seeing the appearance by using instant glue in some places.
I think the curved surface of the caterpillar also seems bent at the join of the tracks, so it is a passing grade. I think that tanks with larger trucks seem to be quite natural. A small track like a panzer I and an Italian tank are a little bad if it is a belt-type caterpillar. The 28this DS track is not easily torn off, even if I use a lot of glue; the joints are tough. Such as rolling and capstan wheels, small rolling wheels at the top, and all the contact points are firmly fixed.
A metal wire is included for insufficient length; a nylon wire substitutes one wire. The length is irregular but OK.

It got dirty with Mat Medium and mud items of Tamiya, but it was a failure. I forgot that this place was for a decal, like the mouth of a monster. Before painting, it isn’t easy to stick the decal if I don’t scratch and flatten it.
Basic painting completion. I made a mistake in the wrong direction of the right stereo rangefinder attached. I attempted to fix it after adhering to it but abandoned removal as the entire turret seemed damaged. I thought I carved by myself, but they seemed to worsen, so it’s just as it is. The shape is difficult to understand because it is clear; the ordinary color parts don’t make a mistake. It is regrettable…
Paste the decal. Are shark teeth commonly seen in the Vietnam War? I stuck the remaining decals with my preference.
After all, it is unpleasant that I don’t fix the stereo rangefinder. I had already known my mistake, I twisted it carefully with big pliers, and it got off. After filed cleanly and attached again, it will be OK. A little more until completion.

The main gun is 90mm, the front armor is 110mm, and the maximum speed is 45km/h. Although it is a high-performance tank, there were many guerrilla battles in the Vietnam War, and the tanks struggled hard. The Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese army were equipped with many RPGs, and ｍany places had lousy visibility on the battlefield, and M48 could not prevent these attacks without infantry.
The Vietnam War is an impressive strategy based on the operation of a helicopter that appears in movies and recorded films many times. It was unsuitable for the southern jungle-like Vietnam but used for infantry support and airport defense in the Vietnam War. Of course, this tank development aimed to counter the solid Soviet tank corps of that time.
In the Middle East War, the M48 of Israeli IDF won the Arab side T-54 and T-55. Whether the Japan SDF did not operate the M48? I guess the tank in Japan was already developed in the original Japanese type. Tanks around this age are not already working today; after WWII, it can be called a legacy range.
I want to paint the tail light red, but I can not find such a vehicle if I look it up. I painted the tail light with the primary color and made it dark.
In the case of a tank, if I use black for washing, it suddenly becomes dirty; I use earth color and rust color lightly for ｗeathering and washing.
I think the rust effect of tipping became too fictitious and didn’t do this time. When decorating with a single item, I like this weathering condition.
I appreciate it for adding many clear parts to the periscope; after all, I finished it with gloss black like the photo. Slightly downwardly large periscopes are challenging to take a photo that the condition is shining.
The side part of the rubber of the belt caterpillar parting line has remained, but it is better to erase it. I could erase the rubber tire line, so I should not give it up from the beginning.
Was this marking effective for Vietcong? I think one of the purposes is to inspire US soldiers.
It was the Vietnam War; I tried a little to strengthen the reddish-brown.
By the way, the T97E2 type track was used for the M48 and M60, which were the main tanks of the US Army in the 1960s and 1980s. Part of the surface was made of rubber.
I think there are various errors, but I managed to finish it. The decal was thin, and it fits perfectly on the rough surface of the tank. It was easy to paste, and shining did not occur. Honest feeling, I don’t look strong in this tank if the turret is round. The German King Tiger seems more robust, but if they fight, M48 will win.

I am interested in models of tanks, airplanes, ships, military figures, I build them little by little when I feel like it. I am also interested in the history of war. My starting is Tamiya’s Military Miniature series in elementary school.
From elementary school through university students repeatedly suspend and restart my modeling, it’s about 25 years of this hobby’s history.
From February 2007 I was quietly doing a site called “Miniature-Arcadia”. It is being transferred to this blog with the same name from December 2016. My update pace is uneven, but please come to see me here occasionally.
