This time, I will try to make a figure of the Totenkopf Division of the German Army at the end of World War II. Totenkopf Division is the 3rd SS Armored Division. What’s premium about the premium edition?
Well, the assembly is complete because it is just a matter of gluing the parts of the arms and legs normally. The premium edition contains so many parts. The kit has only a few parts to fit, so plenty of accessory parts are to spare. I appreciate it because there may be other opportunities for reuse. The master box figures, for example, do not have any unused parts, depending on the manufacturer.
The head of this kit has a pretty good mold. The ears are well-carved and fine. Even if it’s not GEN2, the face mold is this good, but I guess the premium edition is full of accessories, and the original kit is not. Still, it’s a great deal that the face mold is relatively well made. Well, it’s too late to say this, but I don’t like Dragon’s scarce items because they’re all expensive resales. I want the company to do a good inventory management and resale job.
Everyone seems to have chosen clothing to protect against the cold, and the irregularity probably represents the chaotic situation at the war’s end. I like the part where the grenade is held in the belt. And anti-tank weapons would be a must-have during this time.
I had a lot of parts and a gas mask case, so I glued them together. It is believed that the German army continued to use gas masks even near the end of World War II. It assumes that even in 1945, just before the end of the war, soldiers were equipped with gas masks and trained to prepare for war contingencies and the possible use of chemical weapons.
It assumes that even in 1945, just before the end of the war, soldiers were equipped with gas masks and trained to prepare for war contingencies and the possible use of chemical weapons.
However, the war situation in Germany at the end of the war was already difficult, and it might have been difficult for sufficient supplies and training to be conducted due to the intensified attacks by the Allied forces. It is conceivable that the use of gas masks decreased towards the end of the war, but even so, soldiers were prepared for potential gas attacks until the end of the war. Why am I thinking so much only about gas masks?

The mold of the figure’s clothes looks rather sloppy, perhaps because he is wearing a warm outfit or because of how the shooting rays look.
I sometimes used the etched parts of Aber’s small fire sling when making figures. This time, the Dragon kit includes the parts for the gun belt. Even without parts, I sometimes make gun belts out of various materials, such as copy paper soaked with instant glue, ultra-thin plastic sheets, and fishing board weights.
I attached a firearm sling. Some are fine parts of the Aber with metal brackets attached, but they are so delicate. I’m afraid it won’t show much after it’s painted.
I also assembled what appeared to be Panzerfaust safety pins and their storage boxes. It would be interesting to have some accessories.
As I mentioned above, the uniforms of the German infantry at the end of World War II were uneven, and the atmosphere was good, but it was challenging to paint them because various paints were used. It is very different from the German tank crew.
I stuck quite a few Panzerfaust cautionary decals on it. I like these because they give me more precision.

The figures of the Totenkopf Division have been completed.
It was probably a fight in Budapest, in the rubble, so I stained the uniform quite a bit. The white snowsuit also got dirty, but I can’t recognize it from the picture.
They don’t all wear the same boots, either. Some soldiers wear brown leather boots.
Camouflage is mainly dot patterned, and several Vallejo colors are used. When they partially wear camouflage, they look like Waffen SS at the war’s end.
Looking closely, I see a little field gray uniform on the hem because he is wearing a cold jacket over his regular uniform.
Unlike the winter of 41, the snowsuit looks sturdy.
I took the opportunity to line it up with the Tiger tank completed the other day. It’s a confusing time right before the end of the war, so I think it fits with this tank.
I feel like it’s getting harder to look at the details as I get older. Maybe I should take out a large loupe that I had stashed.
