This military figure kit is pretty old. There are many points where the mold is dull. I tried to scrape or carve it with a design knife, but it wasn’t easy. The most important thing is camouflage painting.
I made the strap of the StG44 assault rifle.
A soldier with a grenade in his belt. It is challenging to fit this grenade into clothes. It’s necessary to adjust variously, cutting the warhead a little with a file or cutting the belt part from the middle.
The Schmeiser sub-machine gun was changed from the attached one to the other kit Gen2Gear. The Gen2 kit is slightly better molded. However, since the product number of this kit is 6002, I think it is pretty old, and the molds of weapons and figures are well-made.
Hanging the machine gun bullet belt from the neck is quite tricky. I put a lot of glue to soften the plastic parts, which went well.
We added a machine gun strap with masking tape. Without this, I cannot pose him like the illustration.
The molding color of the plastic is orange. So I wonder if they are calling the Orange Box a series attached to the figure with a Dragon’s Tank kit as a bonus.
I have not decided where to paintbrushes yet, but I blew the surfacer.
Now I am practicing the painting of uniform camouflage patterns.
The Battle of the Bulge was the last German army tried to counterattack; it fell in defeat between the offensive of the Soviet forces from the east and the offensive of the Allied forces who landed in Normandy from the west. It was deployed from December 16, 1944, to January 25, 1945. Hitler thought of forcing the Allied troops to the sea, bringing it to a ceasefire.
It is also called the Battle of the Ardennes because it was set in the Ardennes Forest between Belgium and Luxembourg. These figure plastic models are Waffen-SS German soldiers who participated in that offensive.
Vallejo’s 833 German camouflage Bright green, 875 beige-brown, and 979 German camouflage dark green were used.
It is an officer of the Waffen SS. Though it is the pose that seems to read a newspaper, he gives instructions while watching a map. The map case is suspended from the belt.
I need to practice the camouflage pattern of the German uniforms. For example, I practice in one of the hands and feet and advance to all the OK patterns and colors. It takes time to paint again after all the painting is done because it differs from my image. The shock is big. Trial and error is fun in various ways; too small a painting needs perseverance.
