I will make a Russian fighter MiG-29 Fulcrum. It is a kit of Academy 1/48 scale. The camouflage color of the Russian Army fighter is a lot of blue-gray combinations of subtle differences.
The Academy’s Fulcrum has excellent quality Cartograf decals. There are also a lot of caution decals, and no complaints about decals at all. However, it is difficult to assemble, as described later.
This kit also did not have a decal of the cockpit and side panels. I painted them with hand drawings. Looking at the parts, the canopy seems to be assembled in a closed state, so I wonder if this is enough. In other words, even in the open state, it’s impossible to paint too much finer detail… I tried additional work to make it look like a seat belt of a Russian fighter plane.
Are the parts not so good at matching, or is this a standard part division? I’m not sure because I have not made much of this jet fighter type, but since I can make gaps and gaps pretty well, I have to fix them. Gaps and steps were generated; I had to fix them with putty.
The canopy is in a closed state. It is not so hard masking work.

The complicated curved surface of the nose is also made of numerous parts, so many gaps are occurring. It was mainly modified with light curable putty; I cannot say it’s perfect. I would have thrown it out unless I had experienced the building of Smer 1/48 Su-7 several years ago.
I broke one of the three projections on the bottom of the nose, such as the sensor or antenna, during the work; it was tiny, and I thought it was OK to leave it. I changed my mind and made it with heat-stretched plastic. It’s easy to work. I can do it in 30 seconds.
Mr. Color 336, Hemp was specified in color designation, but it is absolutely different! I examined the MiG-29 that had been deployed in Armenia. Compared with the box art, the Hemp color was different. Perhaps it seems that Mr. Color #118 RLM78 light blue is approximate. At the same time, I felt Mr. Color 308 Gray is more suitable than Mr. Color 324, as specified in the painting manual. I do not doubt the manufacturer’s instructions, but I believe in my sense this time.

The NATO Codename is Fulcrum, and the nickname of the Russian is Ласточк (swallow). The nickname of swallow suits well as the aircraft size is small.
MiG-29UB is a double-seat training model type. I wanted to make a fighter; the white tiger’s marking is excellent.
This machine has small masking as it has many delicate gray areas. The small curve area is difficult. I blew black and white with a gradation before basic painting.
Even if the panel lines disappeared at the time of filing, there are small raised rivets on some panels. In such a part, please leave a little step as it is so as not to spoil the mold as much as possible.
I wonder if the seeker part of the missile got a better look after I finished it with clear smoke color.
The missiles are lightly washed on the glossy white; regarding the main body, I stick decals, and after clear coating, I finished with semi-gloss clear coating after inking and lightly washing.
I chose the color by my judgment because the color specification of the manual, the box art, and the photograph of the actual machine were pretty different. However, there are many camouflage patterns and color combinations, so it may not be necessary to think so seriously.
A short comment on the coloring manual was that MiG-29UB #102, Erebuny, Armenia 2005. The white tiger marking is beautiful and stands out well. I wonder if it is a MiG troop deployed in Armenia.
The armament of this fighter, R-27 long-distance air-to-air missiles NATO Codename AA-10 Alamo, R-73 short-range air-to-air missiles NATO Codename AA-11 Archer, R-60MK infrared tracking type short-range air-to-air missile, NATO Codename AA-8 Aphid.
It wasn’t easy to assemble because many parts were glued around here.
Although it is not in the instruction manual, it is better to embed the weight in the nose of the aircraft. Even if I don’t enter anything, this MiG-29 usually stands, but it will fall behind if I hit the engine nozzle a little. I attached the engine at the end during the assembly process, so in the end, I quickly inserted a weight from the nozzle. I pushed it to the top with chopsticks.
This MiG-29UB, the Academy’s kit, Has some problematic points to assemble, and some parts have become somewhat sloppy, such as filling in gaps. The quality of the decal attached to the kit drastically affects the finish. Many caution decals are attached; of course, it is hard to paste, but since the precision improves pretty much. I am staring at the finished Fulcrum and grinning…
Regarding the PS3 game, it was fun to play the DUNAMIS 15 novel game. A while ago, I played Steins; Gate and Steins; Gate: Hiyoku Renri no Darling. They were also exciting. It was a correct choice that I played without reading the explanation of the package, which has spoilers of the story explanation. It is easy to spoil as many other players write it, so it was pretty enjoyable if you started without anything from the internet and friends. I played it because I love SF, but it explained this is not science fiction but suspense fiction; I see… The opening movie is the least, what will you do after spoils this timing! When I was playing it without information, I thought it was a zombie game, as same as many overseas games, but it isn’t the same one.
