The AFV Club Stryker. I built it from April to June 2009.
It is a state-of-the-art infantry carrier vehicle of the U.S. Army. It was out of stock almost in Japan and was ordered to Hong Kong at the end of last year. Ｉ received it about two months ago. It has been rolling in the corner of my room. I almost forget about it…
The joint of parts seems to have significantly improved though it is the same manufacturer as Stuart M3. The Michelin tire has actual texture.

It was becoming close to completion little by little. It is a multi-material assembly that uses rubber and etched parts.

Assembly was completed.
Since strength was weak, Ｉ made the antenna in the brass line, though there was an instruction to make them from the extending runner.
It is the precise structure of a machine gun.

I painted the primary color of Stryker. But the feeling, imagination, and this color are slightly different.

The Stryker is an eight-wheel armored vehicle developed based on the Pyranja developed in Switzerland. The crew is two, and nine infantrymen can board. It can also be possible to carry air transport and deploy forces worldwide.
I think it’s the best kit for the AFV club. I could assemble it without stress, even though there were a lot of detailed parts.
The tint is different from a real AFV. I suppose it should be thicker and darker. Some photographs seem to have lightened too much.
If I used the petrol with washing too much, a dry mark might appear irregularly, though the paint film of Humbrol is quite strong. And petrol violates the paint film to make crumples. There’s a case the wrinkle disappears after drying, but I suppose it’s a risky method.
I recovered the paintwork from blowing the primary color again. When I express the pastel too much, recovery is difficult.
On the upper armor, I did pastel work too much, and difficult to recover it. But dusty weathering is matched with the Middle East climate.
The photograph is from upfront. There is a lot of detailed molding.
I should have added the accessory more and set up the feeling of the actual combat.
I installed the resin head in a Dragon’s old figure.
I could paint the handle and the metal part, such as shovels, quite well.
We need to be careful that transparent parts of the AFV club become cloudy white or melt when it touches the enamel thinner. I bonded them with a transparent epoxy adhesive at the end of all the steps. The vertical line of thin clearing parts disappeared when a right headlight touched the epoxy adhesive…..
A real shot with an antenna is quite good-looking.
This kit is excellent. The painting was not so good this time, but I could enjoy the assembly process. Eight tires are a powerful impact. Forming is also excellent.

I am interested in models of tanks, airplanes, ships, military figures, I build them little by little when I feel like it. I am also interested in the history of war. My starting is Tamiya’s Military Miniature series in elementary school.
From elementary school through university students repeatedly suspend and restart my modeling, it’s about 25 years of this hobby’s history.
From February 2007 I was quietly doing a site called “Miniature-Arcadia”. It is being transferred to this blog with the same name from December 2016. My update pace is uneven, but please come to see me here occasionally.
