HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 BOX PACKAGEAll of you, A Happy New Year!! I will build Fujimi’s warship, Heavy Cruiser Tone. Let’s start the kit that does not put nipper as it is the beginning of the New Year. This year I want to actively rescue kits that have stopped in the middle of making and bring it to completion. The other day, I purchased Fujimi ‘s special 10000 yen lucky bag, and the stock increased, let’s start with this kit in terms of reducing the stock of ship kits. Even if I buy a lucky bag, no duplicate ship means I’m a beginner.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGThis kit contains ballasts, I use two pieces, and the weight is felt.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGThese are the photo-etched parts of the Tone that I had purchased before. There are a lot of parts of a handrail and a catapult. I couldn’t use everything, but I will try to use it as much as possible.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGRecently I’ve gotten used to handling photo-etched parts so I can bring it to completion unless I make a big mistake. I’m sorry if I give up on the way.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGThe assembly order is complicated. The float depot of the water reconnaissance plane just beside the chimney interfered with various parts and adjusted it many times. I still don’t know what the best order is.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGThe bridge deck of Tone is relatively compact. But there are many small handrails, and yet I have not been able to finish attaching them.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGThe photo-etched parts of the secondary armament of the ship’s side are pretty tricky. Though a ladder is beside a gun turret, I have not yet attached it.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGI am going to put four Aichi E13A reconnaissance aircraft. These are all clear parts. The propeller is also a clear part. I purchased the photo-etched parts, so the propeller-etched parts were included in this set. I thanked them for using it.

The best anime I saw last year was “Made in Abyss,” the underground adventure. I like Miyazaki’s works Cagliostro, Nausicaä, Laputa, and Porco Rosso; I think the degree of completion of “Made in Abyss” is as high as that. But this cartoon is for children. The hero is too young. I want to make a character figure of “Made in Abyss” and search on the internet, but it seems that only the finished product has been released.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGThere is a place where the position of the stairs is different from a sample photograph. I may have made a mistake.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGThe assembling of the crane is complicated. It became the form somehow. Though a crane did not go well when I made battleship Kongo before, it was good this time. The view in this area is a good feeling with a sense of precision.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGI finished the assembly earlier. The shipboard boats and reconnaissance aircraft will be glued after painting. All the others are completed. After assembly, the deck is complicated, and it seems challenging to paint the linoleum part. I think that it is cool enough without painting. It is cold these days, so I do not want to use much airbrush in the winter season.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGInaccurate assembly instructions are confusing but better than nothing. I used the photo-etched parts of Fujimi’s Tone, but the assembly number is not assigned to this assembly manual so much. The picture is unclear, and it is hard to handle. The assembly itself is not too complex. Maybe I should use it as I like and detail up this ship.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 MAKINGSince the explanation of the photo-etched parts is insufficient, I examined the shape of the ship ladders by the warship research material. Still, even if the structure is understood, such reproduction is impossible… As much as you can understand, it is an interesting place for modeling hobbies like that. It is an exciting point of modeling to understand some structures.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 PAINTINGThe reconnaissance planes are being painted at the beginning.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 PAINTINGI used a Leather Brown of the Vallejo Model Color in the linoleum area with personal preference. The delicate painting becomes mentally exhausting. However, for the modeler who likes masking or painting with a brush, I think that preference for process selection will be divided. Masking may be the orthodox process in the modeling of warships. Anyway, after this, I have to retouch a lot of points.

Recently, it was pretty troubling in the matter of a printer for several days. I purchased an Epson printer, and for a while, a message of the trouble appeared when I was going to print some material the other day. I could not print, scan or copy at all. I thought I changed to compatible ink a while ago, and it caused a breakdown. Even if I replaced it with a genuine ink cartridge, if the head broke down due to the ink, thinking that it would be useless, It turned into a genuine cartridge by trial, which usually worked! I wonder if it will be a replacement. After all, it is self-responsibility.
The result is very much appreciated, but I’d like to doubt that it is working on a compatible ink-prevention program with firmware updates. For example, after setting a compatible ink and printing a certain number of sheets, the printer displays an error and stops all functions. After all, I don’t need an IC chip for the ink remaining amount measure function. It should be good with a simple ink cartridge without the IC chip. I presume there are many malfunction cases not recognizable to this IC chip. Even if it is true, I do not want to make it a problem that a compatible ink prevention program is installed. If the manufacturers do such specifications, they should open it properly without sneaking up. Rather than being told that it is a malfunctioning error, telling us, “I will not use your compatible ink for anything!!!” and correctly buying genuine cartridges is better. I think the compatible ink business is doing faithless, and the printer business model is an abnormal structure of getting profit from ink cartridges. Manufacturers will have difficulties, but may they show a more sincere part to consumers?

In France, I learned that there was a questionnaire survey on the suspicion that it would intentionally cause the printer to malfunction or shorten the lifespan of the printer business. Usually, I was not interested in such an article if the printer was used normally, but I was pretty interested in the printer business for the last week.
I could not print at all, and after I bought a Canon printer, I learned the above. Canon’s new printer is connected to my wife’s PC, so it is OK. In the future, even if either of the two printers breaks, it will not be a problem immediately. Although I cannot conclude, I encountered a phenomenon that I felt the manufacturer’s dishonesty, so I wrote a complaint.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 PAINTINGThe clear parts of airplane parts were a dull impression. It became sharp when painting and changing the propeller to a photo-etched part and sticking many decals. Some decals were degraded, so I changed them to my spare stocks.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKThe heavy cruiser Tone has a unique structure where all the main guns are placed in the front, and the rear is equipped with a water plane and catapults.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKCommissioned: 20 November 1938
Displacement: 11,213 long tons
Length: 201.6 m (661 ft)
Beam: 19.4 m (63 ft 8 in)
Speed: 35.55 knots (35 mph; 65 km/h)
Complement: 869

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKArmament:
8 × 203 mm (8 in) naval gun (4×2)
8 × 127 mm (5 in) naval gun (4×2)
24 × 25 mm Type 96 antiaircraft gun (8×3)
23 × 25 mm Type 96 antiaircraft gun (23×1)
catapult x 2, Aichi E13A floatplanes x 6

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKAt the time of the war, it was a state-of-the-art heavy cruiser. Therefore, there was no significant modification other than reinforcing radar and the antiaircraft gun.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKThe heavy cruiser of IJN puts the mountain’s name, but Tone became a river name because it was considered a light cruiser during construction planning. Although it could not be built as a heavy cruiser due to the limitation of the London Conference on Disarmament, it was thought that reinforcement of the main gun could be made later.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKIt’s an exact mold. The main gun’s muzzle is neatly open.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORK HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKI am surprised that the expression of the ship has changed considerably after I fixed four reconnaissance airplanes on the back deck. Next time I would like to make onboard aircraft a little more precise.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKThere has been a particular gap under the secondary gun on the starboard. Though I used the photo-etched parts with much effort, I am disappointed. I mean, I forgot this recovery.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKThe airplane cockpit may have had a better painting method. It’s a clear body part, so I’ll think about it more next time. Also, I was stretching the antenna. It became a tension that interfered with the rotation of the radar. Logically, it is strange.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKIt’s a small but fearless face bridge. The window frame photo-etched parts were attached.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKThe handrails and the stairs of the photo-etched parts are particularly fun to assemble because they improve the sense of precision.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKThe front and rear flagpole is not just a stick; fine detail is arranged. In this case, it is more realistic to use these parts as it is rather than replacing them with a brass bar.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKHeavy cruiser Tone was built at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki Shipyard, so I used Tamiya acrylic XF-77 Sasebo navy factory gray.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKTone played actively in various strategies, such as the Pearl Harbor attack, the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Tone wrecked under attack by US aircraft while berthing at Kure in July 1945, putting on a bottom and ending the war.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKAlthough the total length does not change with the previously built battleship Kongo, the IJN Tone width is about two-thirds of Kongo. I wonder if there will be a difference between 31000 tons of battleships and 11,000 tons of this cruiser.

HEAVY CRUISER TONE 1944 FUJIMI 1/700 FINISHED WORKI tried to take a photo beside the battleship Kongo and the destroyer Yukikaze I built around a half year ago. The battleship’s bridge has a massive impression. The heavy cruiser Tone is a smart and sophisticated design. Yukikaze is small and lovely.
